The session prep and admin side of music production can be a drag. Not only that, but it can really eat into your creative time.
I’ve made a new video to demonstrate how you can save time when it comes to labelling and renaming your tracks. That way, you can spend much more of your time focused on the fun and more important parts of the production process.
While I use Pro Tools to demonstrate this, the theory applies to any DAW and you’ll definitely learn something you can quickly apply straight away to your own method.
Remember, the reason why you’re doing something is always much more important than how, or the DAW you use.
In this case, it’s all about saving time and keeping you on track to take giant leaps forward on your audio journey!
Now, I’d love to know…
What’s your technique for renaming your tracks as fast as possible?

Ableton Live on PC – enter the first name, then “tab” will cycle you to the next track ready to type the next name.

Thanks Richard – that’s very helpful for anyone on Live!
