Did you know that the average time it takes someone to learn how to mix is 2 years?!
Mixing can feel like so much of a dark art that most people decide to skip the fundamentals and dive in head first. They study, experiment, watch videos, and go through hundreds of “tips and tricks” but make incredibly slow, almost painful progress.
I know because I’ve been there. I spent years trying to develop my own method. It was a very slow process full of trial and error.
When you’re in that state, it’s so frustrating to watch great mixers at work. You feel like you could never get the same results.
- How do they do it?
- How do they produce those insanely good mixes and make it look so damn easy?
The short answer is that every great mixer has a mixing method.
You should too.
This is the first of three videos where I’m going to show you exactly what I’m talking about, so that you’re on your way to perfecting your very own method.
In this video, you’re going to learn 3 things that great mixers always do…
Now, I’d love to know…
How do you feel about your mixing method at the moment? Is it working for you or does it need improvement?

There’s always room to improve. I love finding new techniques that make my job easier……
I recommend spending at least an hour, a few times, throughout the week learning a new technique or listen to someone you admire talk about mixing…..you’ll be surprised about how fast you can improve and solve your own dilemmas.
